Dear interested potential students and adjuncts:
I received word today (4/4/07) that the Graduate Council has once again tabled the Prospectus for an M.S. in Safety Management degree. That means that another academic year must pass (2007-2008) in an effort to get to a proposal. It has been a two year battle to this point . . . I do not feel we can afford to waste our time (faculty in OSH) nor waste the time of those parties interested in such a degree, any longer. I thank you for your strong interest and support.
I strongly encourage you checkout Oakland University's M.S. in Safety Management degree . . . and wish you well in your endeavors.
Sincerely,
Eric Van Fleet
Director of OSH

During the month of March, 25 members were asked to participate in a survey
to help us better understand the needs of our members. This is a short
summary or the results, based on the opinion of the 16 members that
responded to the survey:
The overall rating the WMASSE was given was a 4 out of 5, with 5 being the
highest.
Our Strengths:
We are good at conveying information to our members
We are scheduling meetings on Thursday afternoons, which is the best
time according to the survey
We are giving out meeting information at least a month in advance
Areas for Improvement:
Location of meetings: we should be focusing more on the Holland/Zeeland
area
We need to advertise opportunities for WMASSE Committee work or board
work, possibly giving more information to encourage group participation
Thanks to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to assist with
the survey. We will do our best to make accommodations where we can to
make our meetings of interest and accessible to as many of our members as
possible. To comment or get more information regarding the survey, please
contact Clara Davis, cdavis@parker.com.
