RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports directly to the FSU Director of Emergency Management (FSU Director of Public Safety). Train staff on emergency preparedness; Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with diverse staff, faculty and students; Work collaboratively and submit required reports with local, state, and/or federal entities in emergency preparedness and response; Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Organize, schedule and supervise line and staff personnel; Possess a valid Michigan driver's license; Maintain up to date knowledge of Michigan's laws, regulations, as they relate to emergency management/preparedness; and Work a varied work schedule, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required - Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Valid Michigan’s drivers license.
The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Preferred - Professional Emergency Manager's Certification (PEM). Two years of progressive experience in emergency response and/or emergency preparedness in an institutional, municipal, or military setting.
SALARY:
$35,000-$40,000
